Exploratory Essay Reflection

I struggled with my exploratory narrative because I procrastinate a lot and had trouble finding reliable sources relating to my topic. This was because there were so many to choose from, and I couldn’t make up my mind on which one was the best option for my essay. However, with motivation from scrolling endlessly on social media and the due date, I gathered my thoughts, chose the best source for me, and completed my essay. My great friend Labeeba and my peer Breana helped tremendously by giving me feedback about my essay. My exploratory narrative audience could be someone who’s my age, younger, or older than me who has questioned the ideas and roles in a fairytale. My exploratory narrative could also be for those who wanted to dig deeper into why a certain plot was in one version of a fairytale but not in another version. With this exploratory narrative, there were many course learning outcomes. I learned how to analyze and reevaluate possible sources found in the ccny database and learn how to implement a good structure that would allow me to see which sources would be best for my essay clearly. I enjoyed my time with my peer review partner for this essay, she was accommodating, and although we chose the same fairytale, we both were able to learn new things from a different perspective. We were both equally surprised at how various points or patterns were depicted in just one fairytale. This assignment made me work extremely hard, and though it was tiring, I learned more about my weaknesses and mistakes the hard way and plan on not doing them in my future essays
